Did you know today is National Crayon Day?
Crayons began in 1903, when two cousins decided that colour should be something every child could hold. They melted pigment and paraffin wax together until it became soft enough to glide, strong enough not to crumble, and safe enough for small hands. The very first box held just eight colours. And that tiny set basically rewired childhood creativity forever.
It is basically a reminder that creativity started small — literally in the palm of a child’s hand — and somehow grew into a global language of colour, nostalgia, and tiny joys. If you somehow made it all the way down here… congratulations. You now know more about crayons than you did five minutes ago.
