Acceptance.
Regardless whether I was replaced before it was over or after, it does not matter anymore. The mere fact that I was replaced speaks volumes.
I concede. I give in. I accept these things, for I, alone need to pick up the shattered pieces left behind. I, alone, need to put myself back together bit by bit, and put myself first.
Today, I lay to rest the memories of our partnership. I lay to rest the hurtful exchange of words between us and the fights, the resentment we had toward each other. I put to rest everything I was fighting for.
I remain steadfast in taking care of this family that we both started. 6 furbabies that need my love and affection. It is no simple task that I am going through alone, but I know as I grow older, this is already my life story. My 6 furbabies and I are a pack. They warm my heart and keep me grounded.
Thank you for putting up with me all these good (or so you say, bad) years. Our journey together has come to an end. I pray that you weather out the storms and that I also do the same, while we live our lives and timelines separately.
