Only you will pay the price — whole or broken. This is what I’ve learned. Your pain will hurt no one but you; it may even please some. So before you shower others with love or kindness, give it all to yourself first. This is not selfishness — you are the one who pays in the end if you give everything away and forget yourself. Sometimes, your solitude is better than experiences that bring nothing but pain. To love yourself and be enough for yourself is far better than giving what you yourself need the most. Stay away from fake relationships — even those who have been with you for years. The ones who pretend to care, yet at the first sign of trouble, leave after draining every bit of your energy.
