I have carried so much for so long that I no longer remember how to be free. I became the strength everyone leaned on, while quietly forgetting to care for me. I learned to hide the weight upon my shoulders, to keep walking even when I felt weak, and to silence the words trapped inside me when there was so much I wanted to speak. As the eldest, I learned to keep going, to carry responsibilities without complaint. Through family struggles, work, and sleepless nights, I kept moving, even when I felt faint. I became the person everyone counted on, the one expected to stand tall and stay strong, but sometimes I wish someone would notice that even the strongest can feel they don’t belong. Each day, I stand before little hearts, teaching them to learn, to laugh, and to grow. I give them warmth, patience, and kindness, though there’s so much inside I never show. Their little smiles can brighten a difficult day, their laughter can soften the weight I bear. But I know that one day they will move on, and I must let them go, however much I care. I try not to show how deeply I love them, or how each goodbye leaves an ache in my heart, because being there as they find their own way means accepting that we may one day part. Then someone came along and made me laugh, a genuine happiness I thought I’d lost. For a moment, I forgot the weight I carried, and felt a little lighter despite the cost. In simple conversations and shared little moments, I found a comfort I hadn’t felt in a while. I remembered what it was like to feel carefree, to let my guard down and simply smile. But happiness also made me afraid, afraid of losing what felt so rare. My worries sometimes clouded the good moments, making it hard to see the joy that was there. I know my fears have sometimes spoken louder than the patience and understanding I wanted to give. There were moments when my emotions took over, when I struggled to find a calmer way to live. I cannot undo the things I’ve said, but I can learn from them and change how I live. I never wanted my feelings to become a burden, or my fear to take away someone’s peace. Sometimes, all I wanted was reassurance, a little closeness, a moment of ease. I am learning that care is not possession, and love cannot grow through fear or control. Sometimes, the kindest thing I can offer is space, while I work on healing my soul. I still wish to see you and hear your voice, to share our stories and the little things we do. I miss the laughter and the simple conversations, and the comfort of getting to know you. I miss the ordinary moments that felt special, the little details that made me smile. I haven’t given up on what I feel, even if the road ahead is uncertain for a while. I can hold on to hope without demanding, and respect the choices that belong to you. I want to reconnect when the time feels right, without asking you to carry my feelings too. Beneath all these responsibilities and chains, there is still a part of me longing to be free. To laugh without fear, to breathe without guilt, and to find the person I used to be. I want to lay down the weight I’ve carried, and learn that I don’t have to face it all alone. To find peace in the quiet moments, and build a life that feels like my own. I may be tired, and I may be falling apart, but I am still learning to heal and begin. Perhaps freedom is not leaving everything behind, but finding the strength to feel whole within. And if life allows our paths to cross again in a gentler season, I hope there will be laughter, honest conversations, and moments that feel as light as the ones I once treasured. Until then, I will keep learning to loosen the chains, to make peace with uncertainty, to take care of the heart I have neglected for so long, and to find happiness in the life that is still mine to live.
