After living in Central, North-East and East of Singapore all of my life, I have to say food in the far west just doesn’t hit the same. Even Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Woodlands do better. Places like Choa Chu Kang or parts of Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang, Jurong and Tengah feel more convenience driven than flavour driven. Not terrible but just…underwhelming if one used to stronger hawker culture. And I can’t help being honest but once you are used to good hawker food, the difference is obvious. :(
